Patron Carsten Schneider, Minister of State and Federal Government Commissioner for Eastern Germany, honors Packwise Managing Director Gesche Weger with the VORSPRUNG business award // Appreciation of eastern Germany's innovative potential at the Chancellery
Berlin, May 17, 2022 - Eastern Germany has undergone major changes over the past 30 years and generated many good ideas. To make this development visible and to honor it, the VORSPRUNG business award, the prize of the East German Business Forum OWF, will be presented at the Federal Chancellery to outstanding business personalities, including Gesche Weger, managing director of Packwise GmbH from Dresden. The award winners include both traditional companies that have managed to achieve international success through constant further development and young companies that have established themselves as market leaders in a short time.
With its Industrial-IoT solution, the Dresden-based company Packwise creates transparency in the supply chain of companies in the chemical, food and pharmaceutical industries. Founded in 2017, the startup has already won numerous awards and is currently working with 45 industrial customers. The innovative solution enables companies to optimize and automate processes via the availability of data on containers and the products they contain. The unique combination of hardware that allows easy attachment to liquid containers of different types and sizes with a highly intelligent platform enables Packwise to position itself as a market leader in the field of supply chain digitalization in the process industry.

The respective ministries of economics of the eastern German states nominate companies, which are then selected by an independent jury headed by Matthias Platzeck, former Minister President of the State of Brandenburg, six companies. All six award winners are role models for the transformation of the economy not only in eastern Germany, but for the whole of Germany, and are also distinguished by their social commitment. They will be personally presented to the participants during this year's OWF22 conference from June 12 - 14, 2022 in Bad Saarow.
