Today, August 31, 2026, we are launching Packwise Flow 2.0 — the next generation of our software platform for remote fill level monitoring and connected liquid assets.
For us, this is more than the release of a new software version. Packwise Flow 2.0 is the result of years of practical experience with our customers, their measurement scenarios and the very different ways in which tanks, IBCs, drums and other liquid containers are used across industrial processes.
Over time, one thing has become increasingly clear: remote fill level monitoring is no longer simply about displaying a measured value. Companies want to understand what is happening around their liquid assets, identify relevant developments faster and use the resulting data to improve operational decisions. That is exactly where Packwise Flow 2.0 comes in.
The new generation of our platform brings major improvements to maps, routes, notifications, analytics and mobile workflows and has been developed around the requirements our customers have brought to us in everyday use. At the same time, it marks an important technological step forward. Packwise Flow 2.0 creates a stronger foundation for a future in which remote tank level monitoring, industrial IoT, analytics, automation and artificial intelligence will increasingly converge.
The technological principle behind the Packwise ecosystem remains straightforward.
The Packwise Smart Cap connects the physical container with the digital world. It captures information such as fill level, location, temperature and shock. Packwise Flow brings these signals together and makes them accessible through one software environment.
This combination is important because a measured value alone rarely answers the operational question behind it.
Knowing that a tank contains a certain amount of liquid is useful. Knowing where that tank is located, how its level has developed and what happened during its journey provides the context required to actually work with that information.
This is the difference between simply digitizing a measurement and creating a remote tank monitoring system that can become part of everyday operations. Packwise Flow 2.0 has been developed to make this connection between measurement and process clearer, faster and easier to use.
The more tanks and containers a company operates, the more difficult it becomes to maintain a reliable overview.
Liquid assets may be located at production sites, warehouses, customer locations or somewhere along a logistics route. In traditional processes, information is often distributed across different systems, spreadsheets, emails and manual inspections.
Packwise Flow provides a common digital environment for connected containers — or, as one of the central principles of Flow 2.0 puts it, “one dashboard for every container.”
This makes the platform relevant for both stationary and mobile applications. For stationary tanks, users can remotely access fill level and other sensor information. For mobile containers, location and journey data add an additional layer of transparency. Companies that operate both do not need to view these use cases as completely separate worlds.
This opens Packwise Flow to a broad range of applications around remote tank level monitoring, wireless tank monitoring, industrial tank monitoring, liquid inventory monitoring, IBC monitoring and connected asset management.
One of the most visible improvements in Packwise Flow 2.0 is the map experience. The map can now be used in a full-screen view, while relevant asset and process information is available directly within the geographical context.
For users managing distributed fleets or inventories, this reduces the distance between seeing an asset and understanding its current situation. Instead of switching constantly between separate views, important information can be accessed where the asset is shown.
Flow 2.0 also provides more detailed container routes and greater transparency into individual stops along a journey. This is particularly valuable for mobile liquid containers. A current location alone tells very little about what happened before. A route provides the missing context.
The connection between measurement data and individual journey elements has therefore also been improved. Measurements can now be associated more clearly with the respective stages of a container journey. This allows users to understand not only that a value changed, but also where that change occurred within the process.
As the number of connected assets grows, another challenge emerges: nobody wants to manually check every tank and every measurement throughout the day.
Remote monitoring should reduce operational effort, not create a new form of manual surveillance.
Notifications therefore play an important role within Packwise Flow. In version 2.0, they can be configured more easily and no longer require a group to be created beforehand. The practical benefit is simple: users can define relevant situations and allow the system to bring these situations to their attention.
This is an important development for remote tank level monitoring software, because the value of such a system grows when users do not need to search for information themselves. A dashboard provides visibility.
A notification turns that visibility into attention. And once those events can be connected with subsequent processes, monitoring gradually becomes part of automation.
Digital monitoring starts with a correct connection between the physical container, the sensor and its representation in the software.
To simplify this step, Packwise Flow 2.0 introduces a new Scan App for iOS and Android. The app is designed to make the creation of a digital twin easier and more seamless. This becomes increasingly important when remote monitoring is rolled out beyond individual pilot projects.
Connecting a handful of containers is relatively straightforward. Connecting hundreds or thousands across different sites requires processes that employees can repeat quickly and reliably. Simplifying onboarding is therefore not just a usability improvement. It helps create the conditions for scaling IoT tank monitoring across larger fleets and organizations.
The same principle applies to the software itself. Industrial platforms often become more complicated as more functionality is added. Packwise Flow 2.0 follows the opposite approach: additional capabilities should not translate into additional complexity for the user. Optimized user flows reduce the number of clicks required for everyday activities, while a streamlined toolbar provides faster access to the most important functions.
This matters because connected asset data is no longer used by a single technical department.
Depending on the company, Packwise Flow can support supply chain management, logistics, operations, service teams and management. Each of these users approaches the data from a different perspective.
A modern tank monitoring platform therefore needs to make complex IoT information accessible without forcing every user to become an IoT specialist.
Once the operational foundation is in place, the next question becomes increasingly important: what can companies learn from the data they are collecting? Packwise Flow 2.0 introduces a dedicated Analytics section with prepared analyses designed to provide deeper insights and support better-informed decisions.
This represents a natural next step in the development of remote monitoring.
At first, IoT was primarily about connecting an asset. The next stage was making its data visible remotely. Today, the challenge increasingly lies in interpreting larger amounts of historical and contextual information.
For liquid assets, this can mean understanding recurring developments, analysing operating patterns or viewing measurements in relation to routes, locations and other events. The more experience a system accumulates across real measurement scenarios, the more valuable this data foundation becomes.
And this is precisely where the importance of the next technological development becomes clear.
Artificial intelligence is already changing how companies think about software. In industrial environments, however, useful AI applications depend heavily on the quality of the underlying data.
AI needs more than isolated numbers. It needs reliable information from the physical world and enough context to understand what those numbers represent. Connected sensors provide this bridge.
